in[+]frame introduces photographer Jehsong Baak
In[+]frame introduces today Jehsong Baak, an exceptional photographer currently living and working in Paris. Over the last 15 years Baak has succeeded to establish a personal and distinct photographic signature. Everyday people, things and places constitute his subject matter, usually surrounded by a dark and mysterious atmosphere. Night, streets, portraits are dominant in his compositions while his blurry and dim forms and the excellent use of 'chiaroscuro' technique create the impression of a drama, a theatrical scenery or a film-noir. Nevertheless, Baak's photographs do not settle just for technique. They brim with pure impressionism and reflect the artist's restless soul. Check out a small selection from his work in the relative in[+]frame's gallery.
